Wasserman Schultz calls Justice Barrett a 'conservative sycophantic' judge

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) has called recently confirmed Justice Amy Coney Barrett a “conservative sycophantic” judge during a GOTV Zoom call hosted by the Democratic Majority for Israel Super PAC to push attendees to “get out the vote for Joe Biden and pro-Israel Democrats.”

Rep. Wasserman Schultz did not specifically name Justice Barrett rather lumped her in with any future Donald Trump appointments of “conservative sycophantic judges who will stop at nothing to overturn Roe vs Wade" to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Wasserman Schultz also made the case that the Senate Republican's “craven ideological, court-packing push” to confirm Justice Barrett was to “dismantle healthcare protections (Affordable Care Act)  for 135 million people” and to “subvert reproduction rights for all women.”

Moreover, Wasserman Schultz assured attendees that by electing Joe Biden president, he would “restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood,” funding that the Trump administration blocked in February 2019.

“You know the late-Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg helped blaze a pathway for landmark women's and civil rights achievements. Her legal mind and bold descents for the downtrodden and forgotten were respected and revered, and Trump and Senate Republicans ruthlessly exploited this vacancy admitted ongoing presidential election and a deadly pandemic.

This was a craven ideological, court-packing push it was fueled by Republicans drive to dismantle healthcare protections that 135 million people like me as a breast cancer survivor with pre-existing conditions rely upon, as well as to subvert reproductive rights for all women.

By electing Joe Biden were ensuring that Donald Trump cannot appoint more conservative sycophantic judges who will stop at nothing to overturn Roe vs. Wade. As president, he'll restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood the Obama Biden fighting administration feedback from repeated Republican attacks on funding for Planned Parenthood again and again.

And Joe Biden understands that reproductive health care is also about the direct medical benefits of preventing unintended pregnancies improving maternal health and preventing diagnosing and treating cancer and sexually transmitted infections like HIV and AIDS.”- Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
