GWU Professor Calls Rep. Donalds an 'Uncle Tom' at Protest

Share

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) and some of his colleagues in Congress recently ventured down the block to George Washington University in D.C. as demonstrations reached a peak. At the event, Rep. Donalds was encountered by a Palestinian activist and professor, Zein El-Amine, who made racist comments toward the Florida congressman.

As shown in the video above, El-Amine can be seen calling Rep. Donalds a “race traitor” and an “Uncle Tom.” Donalds responds by saying, “That guy’s really old to be in college.”

According to El-Amine’s LinkedIn, the faculty member serves as an adjunct professor for Georgetown, George Washington, and American University.

During his time as an instructor, El-Amine has taught classes such as Arab film and Arab language classes among other literature and film courses.

While appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Rep. Donalds commented on the professor’s stature compared to his own.

“It is crystal clear that you have Jewish students who are being subjected to intimidation, harassment, and some respects of assault, and it’s got to stop, and it’s got to stop immediately. And that requires leadership, Sean. So, if it takes having to deal with some knucklehead protestor who, by the way, was separated from me by about seven people, so be it. I’m a big dude, I could take care of that. But it’s going to require leadership in our country. We do not have that with Joe Biden. The radical left not only supports this thing, [they] encourage this,” said Rep. Donalds.

He concluded, “And so Americans: it takes the courage of all Americans. I don’t care about your politics. It takes the courage of Americans to look at this radicalism in the face. Stand up to it, say no, and we forge ahead for a better America.”

At the GW protest, Donalds called on D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to shut down the encampment.

This is a developing story.
