Gallup: Biden polling lower than Clinton, Republicans +1 Ahead of Election

Share

Days before the final presidential debate between President Trump (R) and former Vice President Joe Biden (D), a new Gallup Party Affiliation poll is an indication that more registered voters consider themselves Republican rather than Democrat.

The Gallup findings uncovered that “it is R+1 (28R to 27D),” and this contrasts greatly with the 2016 presidential election when “it was D+5 (R27 to D32).”

This indicates that there has been a “6-pt shifts,” and it contrasts greatly with the 2012 election when it was D+4.”

Currently, Vice President Joe Biden is leading in national polls, but President Trump has been campaigning in key swing states, hoping to close the gap in said polls as he looks to win reelection on November 3rd. Moreover, political strategists are noting that, although Vice President Biden is ahead in the polls, he is polling lower than Secretary Hillary Clinton (D) was polling at this same time during the 2016 presidential election. This could prove worrisome to the Biden campaign as it looks to turn the White House blue in the upcoming general election.
