Mucarsel-Powell makes final early voting reelection push

Share

We have seen many federal candidates and elected officials do it (dance), and do it very badly while on the campaign trail. From President Donald Trump's recent push-punch shuffle,   President Barack Obama's shimmy shift, and to President George W. Bush's African tribal dance, we have seen some of the worst two-Steppin' by American leaders, until now.

Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D), who is locked in one of the most competitive and contentious congressional races in the nation against Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez (R),  stepped out on the first day of early voting to show off some of her dance moves. Rep. Mucarsel-Powell posted two video clips of her sidewalk-dancing to Salsa music and to Madonna's classic "Celebrate" song.

Hands down, Mucarsel-Powell is a salsa-dancing footwork fiend and I challenge anyone, including  Mayor Gimenez, who also has a bit of rhythm, prove me wrong.

Wait, how about an early voting dance-off between 'DMP and Gimenez?

You all remember that dance off contest in the Amerian Wedding movie, right?

Dancing aside (I have two left feet), we are two weeks away from election day and there seems to be a late-cycle shift in favor of President Donald Trump in Florida. Biden is leading Trump among Hispanics, but not by the margin that Clinton did in 2016. This could be problematic for 'DMP' and others running in very Hispanic-heavy districts.

Cuban-Americans are coming out for Trump, but could those Central American voters ultimately decide Mucarsel-Powell's race, and other Miami-Dade-centric races?

I'll let you know on November 4th.
