According to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, thousands of Floridians are projected to die as a result of contracting the COVID-19 virus, the bulk of those coming by the end of May. The White House says that upwards of 100,000 Americans could die from the disease.

It is also projected that 5,568 Floridians will die by August 3rd.

Self-quarantine and social distancing measures appear to be working, but according to these projections, it may not be enough.

This is the reality Florida is facing.
