Rush Limbaugh says Trump's galvanized base will live on

Palm Beach, FL- Conservative talk show Host Rush “El Rushbo” Limbaugh was honored alongside Republican Party Stalwart activist and philanthropist Gay Gaines, by the Nation Review Institutes's William F. Buckley Prize for Leadership in Political Thought award.

Speaking off the cuff (unscripted) as he usually does, Limbaugh took time to thank guests of the Black Tie event at The Breakers Resort and poke fun at himself as he recanted how he met the late William F. Buckley.

Limbaugh then laid into, who else, Democrats and some Republicans for the way they view President Donald Trump, questioning why it was “difficult” for some Republicans “to defend Donald Trump” if the alternative to him was Socialism.

“It’s becoming increasingly difficult for Republicans to defend Donald Trump,” stated Limbaugh “Why is it hard to defend Donald Trump?  In a real-world it shouldn’t hard to defend Donald Trump. What Is the alternative, Socialism?”

Limbaugh then spoke about how Republicans, especially those lifelong “staunch” Republicans-turned-political TV pundits, say that they can’t defend President Trump, saying that if they can’t defend Trump, you can’t defend the millions of Americans (the sleeping giant) that voted for him, adding that the Trump movement will live on after he leaves the office.

“You can’t defend Donald Trump because you can't defend the people that voted for him. You can’t defend us. Donald Trump will come and go. This movement that elected Donald Trump has been out there for years, they just wasn’t a Republican that realized it and tapped into it. Trump comes along and does it.

These people are going to continue to vote for whatever Trump is after Trump is gone, so when Trump gets attacked, he’s the vessel or the real hatred the Left, the media have for us who elected him. And I don’t understand how it’s so hard to defend us. Why it’s so hard to defend what we believe?...Get over it!

In attendance at the event were Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis, Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and fmr. Mayor of Cincinnati Ken Blackwell.
