Trump popular in Florida, Republicans sticking with him

A recent poll conducted by Florida Atlantic University has President Trump on top in Florida with a 49 percent approval rating, and 46 percent disapproval, amongst a group of likely voters in the Sunshine State.  The same poll reveals a drop in Joe Biden's approval ratings.

Republican primary voters say they approve of the president in the primary; indicating that 85 percent will vote for the President, 8 percent for Congressman Mark Sanford from South Carolina, 5 percent for Joe Walsh of Illinois and 2 percent for former Governor Bill Weld of Massachusetts. 

According to the poll, a sharp divide still exists when it comes to female voters.   The poll highlighted that 48 percent of women show disapproval while 43 percent approve of the president.  Amongst white males, approval of Trump is at 55 percent versus a 42 percent disapproval. Overall, 93 percent of Trump voters say they will stick with him for the Primary.

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: March 17
  • Primary Election: August 18
  • General Election: November 3

The voter registration deadlines in Florida for 2020 are:

  • Presidential Preference Primary Election: February 18*
  • Primary Election: July 20
  • General Election: October 5
