Gillum Comments on FBI Investigation

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum made history by becoming the first African-American candidate for Florida Governor. However, there's still an FBI corruption probe into his city government.

The investigation comes as a result of a 2016 vacation to Costa Rica that Gillum took with Adam Corey and Sean Pittman, friends and lobbyists. In the trip, Corey orchestrated a meeting between the Mayor and an undercover FBI agent that was posing as a developer through an online calendar invite. The group along with their significant others split a $1400 a night villa.

Mayor Gillum says he paid for his share, but no receipts have been publicly released.

Another trip in 2016 to New York with Corey and the undercover agent, Mike Miller, involved a boat trip, possibly attending a Mets game and a performance of Hamilton.

Since then, Gillum has cut ties with Corey, and he mentioned on Meet the Press that "My commitment is to make every receipt available because I've got nothing to hide. I just wanted to make sure the process worked the way it was intended to."

Gillum said that he welcomed the investigation and that he wasn't the target of the investigation, and he also added that he intended on releasing the receipts in the next couple of days to clear up any confusion.
