Democratic congressional leaders are openly and directly calling President Donald Trump a racist after his the alleged controversial "shithole countries" remark he made to members of Congress in the Oval Office.
Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) retweeted a tweet she was quoted of saying that "it was no longer debatable that President Trump is a racist." Wasserman Schultz joins the growing number of House Democratic members to call the president a "racist."
Both Republicans and Democrats have questioned and called for the president to apologize for allegedly making the remark.
While the president’s comment did not sound as presidential as Republicans would like, to say that the remark was racist seems a bit of a stretch, but that is exactly what one member of the Congressional Black Caucus said. (Floridian)
CBC Chairman Rep. Richmond tweeted that the president’s ‘shithole’ comment was “further proof that his Make America Great Again agenda is really a Make America White Again agenda.”
