New body cam footage revealed by CNN has contradicted President Joe Biden’s administration’s account of the Abbey Gate terrorist attack.

The Abbey Gate attack occurred while American troops withdrew from Afghanistan.

Last week, the Department of Defense (DOD) published the findings of a 2-year supplemental review into the Aug. 26, 2021, terrorist attack.

According to the DOD, the review confirmed the department’s initial findings.

Abdul Rahman al-Logari, an ISIS-K member since 2016, was named as responsible for detonating a suicide bomb at the Abbey Gate of HKIA airport and killing 13 US military personnel.

ISIS-K was created in Afghanistan and had been severely weakened during President Donald Trump’s administration.

Since Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal, however, the group has regained strength.

According to the review’s findings, there was only one bomb detonated. Additionally, the DOD has allegedly repeatedly claimed only three gunshots were fired during the ordeal.

However, as revealed by bodycam footage of US military personnel, multiple bombs exploded and dozens of shots were fired in the chaos.

The new footage severely undermines the DOD’s reports, as it is unclear how the DOD could ignore the footage collected by US military personnel on site at the moment of the attacks.

Some Republicans have directly blamed President Biden for deliberately concealing information surrounding his administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal.

US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) a consistent critic of Biden’s foreign policy strategy, claimed the new footage revealed Biden lied about his Afghanistan withdrawal.

“Biden's lies are EXPOSED. His botched withdrawal cost the lives of 13 brave U.S. service members & now we have firsthand accounts & video from Marines that were there proving Biden lied about what happened,” said Scott.

The DOD has yet to respond to the unearthed evidence.

Senator Scott further requested his bill to create a Congressional Joint Select Committee to investigate the US’ Afghanistan withdrawal be passed.
