In the lead-up to the 2026 midterm elections, Vice President JD Vance touched down in Florida to motivate and energize Republican voters.
The Trump 47 committee hosted a midterm rally in Lakeland, Fla., with Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) and Vance as the special guests.
“Florida is facing one of the easiest choices I have ever seen in politics in my entire life,” Vance said. “We have a ton of phenomenal Republican warriors up against some really radical, far-left people this cycle.”
Vance Hypes Up Donalds & Moody; Bashes Nixon & Jolly
During the rally, Vance hyped gubernatorial candidate Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) and Sen. Moody, asserting both runners-up share the same goals for Americans as him and President Donald Trump.
Vance also took jabs at both candidates’ opponents – Florida State Rep. and Democratic Socialist Angie Nixon, who’s challenging Moody for the Senate seat, and former U.S. Rep. David Jolly, who’s facing Rep. Donalds.
“When Angie Nixon calls herself a socialist, I think the right response is to say, ‘Then get the hell out of here,'” Vance said. “You don’t belong in America.”
Vance called Jolly a “washed-up loser” who “flips and flops with the wind.”
Vance Urges Floridians To Stand Against The Left
“Ladies and gentlemen, this November 3rd, I want you to send a message; send a message to the media; send a message to the Democrats; send a message to the Far-Left Radicals who would take your state over; America belongs to those who love it, not that hate it; It belongs to you; Get out there and vote and make sure it stays that way!” Vance said.
White House's Midterm Campaign Effort
VP Vance’s appearance is part of the White House’s effort to protect Republican control of Congress.
Both Vance and President Trump are touring the country, holding midterm rallies to motivate the base to vote.
In Florida, recent polling suggests that races for governor, Senate, and House districts could be tighter than expected.
Republicans still hold a strong position, however, with a 1.5 million voter registration advantage and higher fundraising totals than Democrats.
