Twenty-five years ago, the U.S. changed forever, entering a new era in the face of a horrific and catastrophic national tragedy.

On Sept. 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were taken by a group of al-Qaeda terrorists in what is known as the deadliest terrorist attack in human history.

As we enter a quarter of a century after the incident, we take a moment to remember the lives lost, the unity felt in the aftermath, and the path towards a better and safer world to ensure such terror is never enacted again.

Sen. Rick Scott Honors The Lives Lost

In a video posted on X, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) took the time to honor the people lost 25 years ago and to remind Americans that they must stand against evil.

“Today is an important day for us to pause and remember the tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001. It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years. I, like many others, will never forget where I was,” Sen. Scott affirmed. “I was in New York City when the terrorist attack took place. It was devastating; it rocked our nation to its core and affected every American. We all remember the shock, the feeling; It was an act of despicable violence beyond comprehension.”

“But in the days following this terrible tragedy, Americans came together and vowed to never ever forget. Today and every day we remember those lost and vowed to stand united against evil, terrorism, and hate across the world,” the Florida Senator asserted. “As a nation, we must always honor the heroes lost and stand for freedom in the face of evil.”
