Florida Professional Fighters Endorse Byron Donalds for Governor

Congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds (R-FL) shared he has been endorsed by the Florida Professional Firefighters (FPF) in the governor's race.

"Florida’s firefighters and paramedics put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and our communities," Donalds wrote on social media. "I’m honored to have the support of the Florida Professional Firefighters and the more than 32,000 first responders they represent across our state. As Governor, I will always stand with our first responders and make sure Florida remains the safest and best state in America to live, work, and raise a family."

The FPF, formed in 1944, is a state labor association representing more than 32,000 firefighters and emergency medical service personal. It includes 150 affiliates working in over 200 departments across the state.

The association shared its endorsement of Rep. Donalds on social media.

"Proud to endorse @ByronDonalds for Governor," the FPF announced on social media. "We look forward to working together on behalf of Florida’s more than 32,000 firefighters and paramedics and the communities they serve."

In addition to the FPF, Rep. Donalds has been endorsed by several other associations, including the Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Associated Industries of Florida, The Club for Growth PAC, and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association in his race.

Rep. Donalds has also been endorsed by President Donald Trump, Florida Republican Sens. Rick Scott and Ashley Moody, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), several Florida congressional representatives including Reps. Randy Fine (R-FL) and Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), and several State House and Senate leaders including Sen. Jonathan Martin (R-Fort Myers) and Rep. Meg Weinberger (R-Palm Beach Gardens), as well as a majority of Florida sheriffs.

The FPF has also endorsed Sen. Moody, Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia, and Florida Agricultural Commissioner Wilton Simpson in their respective races.

Donalds is competing against Democratic opponent David Jolly in the governor's race.

The general election is Nov. 3.
