The Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee will be holding a special election to potentially oust its disgraced Secretary Abel Alexander Carvajal over the racism, antisemitism, and insubordination propagated by himself and individuals in two private WhatsApp chat groups he ran.

When The Floridan first broke the story about the racist and antisemitic group chat, where the "N-word" was used over 200 times, and offensive references to the Jewish community were also disseminated, the state Republican party did not have enough to expel Carvajal from the local GOP.

At this point, regardless of how offensive the language used was, it was not an actionable offense for the party.

It was only after the second group chat was discovered that Carvajal's selfish plot to undermine the Republican Party was discovered.

Carvajal's insubordinate messages against Chairman Kevin Cooper and State Rep. Juan Porras appear to set things in motion for his potential ouster from the local Republican committee.

The Damage to Republicans

While Carvajal has apologized for his actions, the damage has been done to the Republican Party across the nation, not just in Miami-Dade. Despite apologizing, Carvajal refuses to resign from his position and has allegedly been actively calling on members to support him in remaining as Secretary.

Lawmakers across the nation, including Senator Rick Scott, and Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar and Byron Donalds denounced the hate speech in the group chat.

Carvajal admitted to using a variation of the "N-word," replacing "N" with the letter "M."

On several occasions within the chat, Carvajal uses the terms “Miggress,” “Migglet,” and “Migger,” which are variations of “N*ggress,” a slur using the female derivative of the N-word; “N*gglet,” a slur referring to African-American children; and “N*gger,” a word so racist it needs no definition.

Abel Carvajal

The story was not only covered by media outlets in Florida and around the country, but Israeli news sites also picked it up.

In addition, the actions of those involved in the group chat have fueled the narrative Democrats have been pushing against President Donald Trump, Republican elected officials and candidates, and the party as a whole, where they assert that the "Grand Ole Party" is racist.

Expect this to weigh in on the 2026 midterm elections, where Republicans are skating on thin political ice across the country, and may lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

If Miami Republicans vote to keep Carvajal, the entire Republican Party in Florida will most likely be labeled as racists, including those who voted for him. If they fail to reach the two-thirds vote to remove him, it will most likely send the message that Republicans are willing to dismiss dangerous, offensive, and hurtful rhetoric.

The Meeting

It's expected that many Miami-Dade Republican elected officials, both at the local and state levels, will be attending the meeting to voice their opposition to Carvajal staying in the committee. In addition, there have been a few political groups that have announced they would protest the meeting.

Where: Renaissance Ballroom —5910 SW 8 Street, Miami, FL 33144

When: 3/23 at 6:30

Chairman Cooper says the meeting is designed to show publicly that the Miami GOP rejects racism and antisemitism, and is moving forward with its "mission to elect Republicans."
