Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) is making Punchbowl journalist Jake Sherman and his Democratic primary challenger, Oliver Larkin, eat their words after voting against funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Early in February, Rep. Moskowitz told Sherman that he would vote in favor of funding DHS if President Donald Trump fired Secretary Kristi Noem.

Sherman posted the remark on social media.

"I know we asked for 10 points. But if Trump fires Noem, he can have my vote," stated Rep. Moskowitz

Larkin, a self-identified Democratic Socialist, responded to Sherman's post, saying, "If you thought Jeffries and Schumer's demands for ICE were weak, get a load of the Democrat I'm primarying."

"The problem with DHS is bigger than Noem—it's rotten to the core," Larking continued, adding, "Moskowitz is already Ron DeSantis' favorite Democrat, and he's working hard to be Donald Trump's too."

On Thursday, President Trump did, indeed, remove Noem from her post as DHS Secretary, announcing Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) as her replacement.

But did Moskowitz vote in favor of restoring DHS funding?

Nope. Big nope.

In fact, only four Democrats in the House voted in favor of the bill, those being Repesentatives Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Don Davis (D-NC), Jared Goldman (D-ME), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), and the Senate is unlikely to send it to the President's desk due to Democratic filibuster.

Later in February, Moskowitz was under fire for allegedly saying that he would tell his 16-year-old self to "go to Wall Street, be a finance bro, do cocaine for a couple of years, get that out of your system," during an appearance on a podcast, which George Moraitis (R), one of Moskowitz's Republican challengers, condemned.

"I just saw a video, Jared Moskowitz, saying he would tell his 16-year-old self to do cocaine for a couple of years if he could go back in time. Jared is a sitting member of Congress, and he is telling kids to do cocaine," Moraitis said on social media.

We are talking about Moskowitz, so is if fair to assume that he was only joking with Sherman?

Publisher Javier Manjarres reached out to Moskowitz at his home in the Capitol, but the married father of two was not home.

Knock Knock.
