President Trump has expressed that he believes House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D) should be “forced to resign from Congress,” setting the table for Republicans to formally call on the controversial congressman to step down from his chairmanship.

Rep. Schiff has been pushing the Russian collusion narrative since Day 1, and now that the Mueller investigation has concluded, finding no “collusion” or “conspiracy” between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, he is being called a liar and an information leaker by Trump and congressional Republicans.

Schiff does not want to let it go, even after Mueller's report was finished. Schiff's campaign website posts the image above.

“Congressman Adam Schiff, who spent two years knowingly and unlawfully lying and leaking, should be forced to resign from Congress!”-President Donald Trump

House Republicans answered the president’s call, as GOP members of the House Intel Committee have signed a letter asking Schiff to resign his post, and reiterated their call during a meeting in that committee.

Republicans used the opportunity to excoriate Schiff’s past actions, calling them “incompatible” with his duty as chairman of the committee. We have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as chairman of the committee.

An angry Schiff fired back with a lengthy response, but refused to allow Republicans to rebut his accusations.
