Election Day is upon us, and one of the most contentious races in the country is the contest between U.S. Marine Veteran and businessman Casey Askar and lobbyist and former teacher Pia Dandiya in Florida's 22nd District.
The race is a 'Toss-up.'
Even as Democrats are set to win the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, all bets are off on who will win this seat, and it will come down to voter turnout.
Askar has been the more substantive of the two, offering tax-cutting solutions to help ease the pain at the pump for voters, while Dandiya has been more of a political cheerleader who has stuck to her Democratic Party talking points.
Both Askar and Dandiya are campaigning at a fever pitch, and have offered up campaign closing statements.
Pia Dandiya
“After talking to folks from every corner of our district, it’s become clear that South Floridians are fed up with the rising costs and performative politics coming out of Washington,” said Pia Dandiya. “They just want common sense leadership that will put their issues front and center. I’m running to fight for a future worthy of Florida families - to lower costs, crack down on corruption, and protect your hard-earned Social Security and Medicare. In Congress, I’ll bring people together to deliver for our community. I’m so proud of this campaign we’ve built, and we’re going to continue running through the finish line to earn the support of South Floridians from every background.”
Casey Askar
"Voters have a very clear choice to make this election day. They can vote for a pro-American, pro-business, and pro-economic prosperity candidate with a record of creating jobs, or they can vote for a Socialist Democrat who supports radical ideologies and has lobbied for data centers. Once elected, I will file legislation to cut taxes and work to help small businesses prosper in today's America."
