Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a closing message to Republicans ahead of election day in a video statement put out by the Republican Party of Florida this week.
"We've done so much in the great state of Florida. We've led the nation on so many things. We got to keep that momentum going," DeSantis said. "I'm asking you to vote for Republicans up and down the ballot."
Gov. DeSantis is term-limited and cannot seek a third consecutive term, arguably putting his legacy on the line. Florida has not elected a Democratic governor since Lawton Chiles in 1994, a span of over three decades.

Gov. DeSantis also urged Republicans to support the state's property tax amendment. The measure, which would increase the homestead exemption for non-school property taxes to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028, requires 60% approval to pass.
According to recent poll, the amendment is short of the mark.
"Vote yes on Amendment Three to lower your property taxes, do not give the Democrats an inch," DeSantis said. "They get an inch, they'll take a mile. We don't want to end up like California. We don't want to end up like Illinois."
"We've got to keep the momentum going. Please vote Republican on Tuesday," DeSantis added.
Florida has had four consecutive Republican governors since 1999. U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) is hoping to make it five in a row against Democratic challenger David Jolly.
Rep. Donalds would also become the state's first Black governor in its 181-year history.
Other Republicans on the ticket include Sen. Ashley Moody, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Inoglgia, and Florida Agricultural Commissioner Wilton Simpson, in their respective races.
