President Donald Trump issued a warning to Yemen’s Iran-backed militant group, promising that he won’t forget the terrorist group's recent attacks in the Middle East ahead of the 2026 Midterm elections.

“The Houthis are behaving very badly,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They’ve been silent for a long time, but now they’ve emerged again, probably at the behest of Iran[…], hitting Saudi Arabia, and purposefully trying to drive up Oil Prices, probably prior to the U.S. Elections – NOT NICE.”

“Somebody should explain to them that I’m not running in the Elections, I’ve already won, IN A MASSIVE LANDSLIDE, but I’ll be there after the Elections, and I will never forget!” President Trump added.

Houthis Launch Series of Attacks on Saudi Arabia Airport

The president’s comments come amid the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s airport.

On Oct. 11, 2026, the Houthis attacked Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, killing 12 people, including an American, and leaving 309 others injured.

The following day, the terrorist group attacked a passenger terminal at the same airport, killing one other person.

Liabilities For President Trump In The Middle East

Amid the routine attacks, the group has also taken control of territory along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, which has allowed them to put pressure on energy flows and assist Iran in influencing global fuel costs.

The recent attacks, along with the liabilities presented in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, are taking place during a pivotal moment in U.S. politics, as the upcoming elections are less than a month away.

This puts the president in a predicament: involving the U.S. military to back Saudi Arabia or refraining from another conflict while the Houthis risk global energy prices and wreak havoc in the Middle East.

President Trump previously promised that the U.S. would not attack Iran in the lead-up to the midterms. However, he recently told reporters that he would consider engaging in Saudi strikes against the rebel group.
