The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Florida has endorsed Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) in her reelection bid against Democratic challenger Angie Nixon. The group has also endorsed 24 Republican congressional challengers ahead of the 2026 Midterm Election.
“On behalf of Florida small businesses, we are proud to endorse a slate of candidates who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing small business interests,” Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive Director, said. “Our state is home to a vast number of independent businesses across a range of industries, and it is important that owners continue to have pro-Main Street representation in Congress."
“We are eager to work with these endorsed leaders to ensure Florida remains a place where independent businesses can continue to grow and create jobs.”
Sen. Moody Celebrates Endorsement
Sen. Moody celebrated the endorsement, affirming that she will continue to prioritize small business owners while in office.
“Small business owners are the backbone of our economy,” Sen. Moody wrote. “They deserve leaders who keep their taxes low and Washington off their backs, and that’s exactly what I’ll keep fighting for in the Senate.”
Ryan Elijah Expresses Gratitude
Ryan Elijah, the Republican nominee for Florida’s 7th District, also celebrated the feat on social media.
“Small businesses make up nearly half of private-sector jobs and are vital to our economy,” Elijah wrote on X. “When we cut red tape, ease the tax burden, and keep labor costs manageable, small businesses can do what they do best: grow and create jobs.”
All But 3 Nominees Endorsed
The NFIB endorsed every Floridian Republican challenger except for Brent Andersen (FL CD 20), who’s up against veteran Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) in a Democratic stronghold; Deborah Adeimy (FL CD 23), who’s facing another veteran congresswoman, Rep. Lois Frankel (D); and Te Brown, who’s set to face former Miami Gardens mayor Oliver Gilbert.
