Republican congressional candidate Casey Askar has won his primary election in Florida's 22nd District. It wasn't even close.
Askar over-performed and crushed the field of candidates, and sent a message to the Club for Growth, who came in a second time to try to defeat Askar.
With 95% of the vote reporting, Askar won by 12 points.
The Club for Growth came in hard and and late, but could not overcome the support that voters showed for Askar.
Recent polling showed that Askar surging.
Askar will not now face off with Democrat Pia Dandiya in the November general election.
