Rep. Berny Jacques (R-Seminole) shared he has received the endorsement of Pinellas County Commissioner Brian Scott in his House 59 re-election bid on social media this week.
"Since taking office, Berny has been a strong, principled leader who has consistently fought to protect our freedoms, strengthen our economy, and deliver results for the people of Pinellas County and the State of Florida," Scott wrote. "He approaches every issue with integrity, determination, and a genuine commitment to serving the constituents he represents."
"Berny understands that good government means being accountable to taxpayers, supporting law enforcement, defending our constitutional rights, and creating opportunities for families and businesses to thrive," Scott added. "He has earned a reputation as someone who listens, works hard, and follows through on his commitments."
Scott has been a Pinellas County Commissioner since 2022. His service includes time on the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, Affordable Housing, Forward Pinellas, Historic Preservation, Tampa Bay Water, Value Adjustment Board, and Business Technology Services.
He is also a business owner and president of Escot Bus Lines.
"Having had the opportunity to work alongside Berny, I have seen firsthand his dedication to our community and his willingness to tackle difficult challenges with thoughtful leadership and common sense," Scott continued. "I encourage everyone in our community to join me in supporting Berny Jacques for reelection. His proven leadership, conservative values, and unwavering commitment to public service make him the right choice to continue representing us in Tallahassee."
Rep. Jacques thanked Commissioner Scott for his support.

Rep. Jacques was elected to HD 55 after defeating Democrat Dawn Douglas by twenty points (60%-40%)Â in 2022. Jacques was re-elected after defeating Douglas by a similar margin in 2024.
HD 55 covers a portion of Pinellas County, including Seminole on Florida's west-central coast.
Jacques is currently unopposed in the Republican primary. Susan Leff is running on the Democratic ticket.
The primary is Aug 18, with the general election on Nov. 3.
