Palm Beach County Mayor Sara Baxter is running for Congress, but was the move to leave the county commission one of political self-preservation because she faced a tough reelection bid?
Baxter opposed Rep. Meg “MAGA Meg’ the Weinberger (R), even after President Donald Trump endorsed her.
During the 2024 presidential election cycle, Baxter opposed and campaigned against President Trump's choice, Rep. 'MAGA Meg' Weinberger, in the contentious state house race in District 94.

The soon-to-be former county commissioner enters the crowded race in Florida’s newly redrawn 22nd congressional district, which will be one of the most-watched races in the country.
According to the Stet News, Baxter “had a private security detail for at least two years.”
Baxter enters the Republican primary race and will face off against Trump ally, business leader, and U.S. Marine veteran Casey Askar, Keiser University Vice Chancellor Belinda Keiser, U.S. Marine veteran and Police officer David Burck, Michael Carbonara, Deborah Adeimy, and Herbert Wertheim.
