Ryan Elijah Vows To Protect First Amendment Rights And Consumers From Fraud

The former WOFL FOX 35 news anchor, who has lived in Florida’s 7th Congressional District (FL CD 7) for 14 years, is seeking to secure a primary win against incumbent Rep. Cory Mills (R).

Following his interview with The Floridian, Congressional candidate and former “Orlando Matter” anchor, Ryan Elijah, elaborated on some of the key issues that he and his campaign are passionate about.

Circling back on one of his campaign’s biggest priorities, – Affordability – Elijah honed in on what it can take to make sure that hope becomes a reality.

“It starts with getting energy prices down, we have to lower the cost of doing business. I believe we are moving in that direction,” Elijah wrote on X.

First Amendment Rights & Fraud Crackdown

The Sanford Republican followed up by addressing two other issues that he aims to handle while in office.

Elijah expressed that he seeks to protect First Amendment rights, more specifically, “when it comes to conservative or religious beliefs” and to pursue “fraud against government programs and consumers.”

Elijah's Focused Solely On The Mission

The former WOFL FOX 35 news anchor, who has lived in Florida’s 7th Congressional District (FL CD 7) for 14 years, is seeking to secure a primary win against incumbent Rep. Cory Mills (R).

Despite Mills’ current controversies amid several ethics investigations in the U.S. House of Representatives, Elijah affirmed that he and his campaign are 100% focused on their mission and their merits, choosing to set aside petty jabs at the incumbent.

Elijah has stood firm on what matters most during his run – improving the quality of life for the residents of FL CD 7.

Veteran Affairs, Military Might, and Strong Education

According to Elijah’s Biography on Ballotpedia, the candidate also comes from “a military family and will ensure that our military remains the strongest and best equipped force in the world."

Additionally, he has also vowed to fight “for our veterans to get the best possible care after serving our nation.”

On the education front, Elijah believes that “a strong education system is critical to securing our children’s future,” ensuring that he “will make sure every child has access to quality, safe and effective schools.”

Since 2022, FL CD 7 primarily covers all of Seminole County, the southern half of Volusia County. The district also covers a portion of Orange County’s Orlando metropolitan area.

Florida’s primary election is set to be held on Aug. 18, 2026.
