On her final day as Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard released “never-before-seen communications and documents” revealing that Dr. Anthony Fauci provided millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund “gain-of-function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
“Before the COVID [-19] pandemic, Dr. Fauci, as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases [(NIAID)], provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology —work which is now widely viewed as the source of the unintentional lab leak that sparked the pandemic,” DNI Gabbard said in a news release.
Fauci Suppressed His Actions from the Public
Fauci reportedly collaborated with “politicized career leadership in the Intelligence Community (IC)” to block the public from learning “the truth about his actions, the virus’ lab-leak origins,” and his role in overseeing U.S. funding for the research.
As part of the Trump administration’s “maximum transparency mandate,” the Office of the DNI (ODNI) gathered testimonies from multiple IC whistleblowers who “reported retaliation for challenging the IC’s manipulation of intelligence on the virus’ origins.”
“This unveiled a clear pattern of suppressing dissent, silencing critics, and burying evidence that undermined IC integrity and disserved the American people,” according to the press release.
Fauci's Role During The Pandemic Shielded Him From Scrutiny
The former Chief Medical Advisor to the President's close relations with IC personnel allowed him to assume positions “that shielded him from scrutiny as he wielded outsized influence.”
The release argued that Dr. Fauci funded COVID-19 research linked to “big pharma and the pursuit of ‘universal vaccines’ worth trillions of dollars,” shaped the narrative that the pandemic originated naturally from an animal to hide his research, and became the U.S’s pandemic “pundit” and “publicly pushed lies, disinformation, and censorship.”
Gabbard Claims "Deep State Playbook" At Play
“The tactics used to hide the truth are straight from the deep state playbook: politicized self-serving leaders like Dr. Fauci covered up their own wrongdoing and abuses of power, manipulated intelligence, lied to Congress, and undermined a duly elected President by restricting his access to vital facts needed to keep the country safe. It’s time the American people learn the real story,” Gabbard claimed.
