Sydney Gruters' list of endorsements to replace the outgoing Representative Vern Buchanan (R-FL) in the 16th congressional district has only gotten longer, as Turning Point Action has given her its support.

Turning Point Action is the voter mobilization wing of Turning Point USA, the conservative activist organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk and currently run by his widow, Erika.

"Charlie Kirk built something extraordinary, a movement that brought a new generation of Americans into the conservative cause and changed the direction of this country," Gruters said in a statement, adding, "Erika Kirk has carried that mission forward with grace, strength, and conviction. I am deeply honored to earn the endorsement of Turning Point Action, and I will carry that trust into Congress by fighting to lower costs, secure the border, and build a stronger future for Southwest Florida families."

Gruters is only the second Florida candidate to receive Turning Point Action's endorsement in the 2026 midterm campaign cycle, the other being Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL).

But it could very well just be gravy for her, as Gruters has already scored the coveted endorsement of President Donald Trump and the backing of numerous other officials and organizations, with a recent poll showing she is 36 points ahead of her nearest primary opponent.

President Trump called Gruters "A Highly Successful Civic Leader and Public Servant" who "has dedicated her life to serving her Community, and she and her family are fierce advocates for our Movement to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Other Republican leaders in Congress, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), and House Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain (R-NY), have also thrown their support behind her.

The Republican primary will be held on August 18th, but it looks like Gruters already has this one in the bag.
