The U.S. Department of Defense announced the release of “never-before-seen” files related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

The release of these documents related to UAPs – formerly, and more infamously known as unidentified flying objects (UFOs) – is part of President Donald Trump’s directive known as the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE).

According to the Pentagon’s Public Affairs press release, the collection of previously classified material is available on https://war.gov/UFO.

The department affirms that additional content will be released on a “rolling basis.”

“The American people can now access the federal government’s declassified UAP files instantly,” the press release said. “The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place — no clearance required.”

The potential existence of these files and their contents has been a source of deep skepticism among generations who have wondered about the possibility of extraterrestrial beings and whether the government has known about the phenomena and has kept them secret.

Federal lawmakers, scientists, and conspiracy theorists have long fought for the disclosure of these documents.

“The American people have asked for more transparency on these topics, and President Trump is delivering,” the press release stated.

Praise from High-Ranking Officials

“The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated.

“These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency,” Hegseth added.

“At NASA, our job is to bring the brightest minds and most advanced scientific instruments to bear, follow the data, and share what we learn, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Administrator Jared Isaacman wrote, praising President Trump’s efforts.

“We will remain candid about what we know to be true, what we have yet to understand, and all that remains to be discovered. Exploration and the pursuit of knowledge are core to NASA’s mission as we endeavor to unlock the secrets of the universe.”
