The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) announced its endorsement of Republican Ryan Gill for House District 68 in a press statement this week.
“AIF is proud to endorse Ryan Gill, a sixth-generation Floridian, cattle rancher, and proven community leader who truly understands what it takes to run a business in Florida,” AIF President and CEO Brewester Bevis said. “From managing a multi-generational family ranch to his leadership on local boards and conservation efforts, Ryan will bring real-world experience to the Legislature. He knows firsthand how smart policies—not burdensome regulations—help businesses grow, create jobs, and strengthen communities across our state.”
HD 68 is up for election this November to replace Rep. Lawrence McClure (R-Dover), who is term-limited. The area covers a portion of Northeast Hillsborough County on the state's west coast.
Rep. McClure won the seat with 63% of the vote in 2024.
Known as "The Voice of Florida Business," the AIF has represented the principles of prosperity and free enterprise before the three branches of state government since 1920. It was also established to promote an economic environment in the state "conducive to the growth, development, and welfare of industry and business and the people of the state."
Gill, a former chair of the Hillsborough County Soil and Water Conservation District, thanked the AIF for its endorsement.
“I’m honored to have the support of AIF,” Gill said. “As someone whose family has worked the same land for over a century, I understand the importance of preserving opportunity for the next generation. Our community was built on hard work, personal responsibility, and a strong local economy. In Tallahassee, I’ll fight to not only protect what we hold dear, but to also make Florida more affordable to ensure our state remains the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family.”
The general election is Nov. 3, 2026.
Along with Gill, the AIF has endorsed Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier in their respective races.
