Anna Paulina Luna Snipes at John Thune Over 'Doing Nothing About the SAVE America Act'

Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) took a shot at Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) over "doing nothing about the SAVE America Act" during a recent appearance on Fox News's Jesse Watters Primetime.

Rep. Luna and substitute host Kayleigh McEnany established context by discussing how Democrats are preparing for the midterms and their plans to possibly "pack" the Supreme Court and "nuke" the Senate filibuster.

"When Democrats eventually, because eventually, they will take control of the Senate and the House again, they are going to remove [the filibuster] anyways," Rep. Luna said. "And I think right now that Thune has been trying to get the American people off his back for not doing anything about voter ID, doing nothing about the SAVE America Act... That is not what we voted for. That is not what the American people want. We want MAHA, we want MAGA, we want President Trump's agenda to be passed through, and [Thune] is blocking it."

The Florida congresswoman declared that House Republicans would kill any legislation sent back to the House from the Senate until the SAVE America Actis passed.

McEnany incredulously asked why Sen. Thune has promised a vote on the bill yet has not actually brought it up. Luna responded that Thune has given the excuse of "the Senate did not have time," and that it is "not a priority."

However, "if we do not pass that, I do not expect the American people to be happy with the Senate and happy with [Republicans] in the midterms," Luna noted, remaining optimistic. "I am still hoping that John Thune will do the right thing and listen to what you are saying, listen to what the American people want, and do his job."

"Otherwise, I think you should call his office and tell him how you feel. I know he does not like that, and so let's put the pressure where it belongs," she concluded.
