President Donald Trump addressed his recent Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated image on Truth Social in which he is depicted wearing a biblical-style robe with his hand on the forehead of a man lying in a hospital bed.
A now-deleted post that has drawn commentary from hundreds due to its suggestion of the president having “saint-like powers akin to those of Jesus Christ,” as The Associated Press (AP) reported.
“I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor, and it had to do with the Red Cross,” President Trump said.
“It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. A lot better,” the president added, blaming “fake news” for misinterpreting the image, which has drawn criticism from the president’s own evangelical supporters.
Marjorie Taylor Green Responds to Trump's Response
“No, absolutely not. I thought that was blasphemy. As a Christian, I was very offended. President Trump is not a doctor, and that picture had him in a robe as Jesus [Christ] is often portrayed with light coming out of his hands,” former GOP Rep. and ally to President Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, told CNN when asked if she believed President Trump’s response to the criticism.
VP Vance Backs President Trump
“I think the president was posting a joke, and of course, he took it down because he recognized that a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor, in that case,” Vice President (VP) JD Vance responded when asked about the image on FOX News Channel’s Special Report.
“I think the President of the United States (POTUS) likes to mix it up on social media, and I actually think that’s one of the good things about this president… he’s not filtered. He doesn’t send everything through a communications professional; he actually reaches out directly to the people,” VP Vance added.
