Former State Congressman Ted Yoho announced his endorsement of Paul Renner for Florida governor, citing his conservative leadership, according to a statement released from the Renner campaign this week.

"Paul Renner is a tried-and-tested conservative fighter. During my time in Congress, I worked closely with Paul, and I saw firsthand his commitment to conservative principles and his ability to deliver real results for the people of our state," Yoho said in a statement.

"Whether it is cutting taxes, expanding school choice, passing tort reform to reduce insurance costs or prioritizing public safety through law and order, Paul has consistently led with courage and conviction. Florida needs a proven leader to continue moving our state forward, and I am confident Paul Renner is that leader," Yoho continued.

Yoho represented Florida’s 3rd Congressional District, an area of North Florida, from 2013 until 2021. Renner served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2015 to 2024, including as House Speaker from 2022 to 2024, which Yoho praised under Gov. Ron DeSantis.

"Governor DeSantis has worked tirelessly to preserve Florida as the 'Free State,' fighting against the persistent threat of liberal progressivism. However, he could not have achieved this alone; he relied on the strong support and leadership of House Speaker Paul Renner," Yoho added.

Renner thanked Yoho for his endorsement.

“I’m deeply grateful to Congressman Yoho for his endorsement and his years of principled leadership on behalf of Florida,” Renner said. "Congressman Yoho has always stood firm for conservative values, and I'm honored to have his support. Together, we’ll continue fighting to lower costs for families, defend our constitutional rights, and ensure our state continues leading the way for the nation.”

Yoho's support follows endorsements from former State Rep. Charlie Stone and Former Florida Senate President Pro Tempore Dennis Baxley for Renner last month.

Renner is in a Republican primary against U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, and businessman James Fishback.

The GOP primary is Aug. 18, 2026.
