U.S. Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) fired back at U.S. Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) after she announced that the Congressman will be subpoenaed to testify about his previous Armed Services history following previous allegations of “stolen valor.”

In a statement on X, Rep. Mace shared that she plans on subpoenaing Rep. Mills to testify during the next full House Armed Services Committee and/or Oversight hearing over an unredacted DD-Form 214 and a DA Form 638 for a Bronze Star Medal that retired Brigadier Gen. Arnold N. Gordon-Bray said “he did not read or review and did not physically sign for” for the Congressman.

What Are The Forms Rep. Mace References?

According to the Veterans Affairs website, a DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) “is a comprehensive record of military service issued upon separation from active duty or 90+ days of training.” The document validates “service for benefits, retirement, and employment.”

A DA Form 638 is an official U.S. Army document used to recommend military personnel for awards and decorations. It is submitted by leadership to document certain achievements or to highlight exceptional service, “ensuring proper recognition,” according to Army Writer.

Rep. Mills Fires Back at Congresswoman Mace

Rep. Mills snapped back at Congresswoman Mace on X, arguing that the South Carolina representative filed for his expulsion without evidence.

“Here’s proof Nancy filed for expulsion without proof or due process, and now trying to back peddle after claiming she had “overwhelming evidence to support my expulsion,” Rep. Mills wrote. “You submitted the resolution so call it privileged for a vote and stop grand standing for donations Nancy!”

Resolution to Expel Mills from U.S. House

Prior to the exchange, Rep. Mace announced the introduction of a resolution to expel Congressman Mills from the U.S. House of Representatives over several allegations, including sexual misconduct.

“The swamp has protected Cory Mills for far too long and we are done letting it slide. We tried to censure him and strip him from his committee assignments. Both parties blocked it, but we are not backing down,” Rep. Mace said on X during the announcement.

“The evidence against Mills is overwhelming: beating women and telling them to lie about it, cyberstalking women, lying about his military service, and profiting off his seat. Any Member who votes to keep him here is voting to protect a woman beater and a fraud,” she added, calling for the Congressman to be “expelled IMMEDIATELY.”
