WASHINGTON— Florida Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds believes that Democratic gubernatorial candidate and former Republican, David Jolly, is a cheaper version of former Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat, Rep. Charlie Crist.
During an interview with The Floridian after votes, Rep. Byron Donalds was asked if he believed Jolly was “Charlie Crist 2.0.”
Rep. Donalds threw a jab at Jolly, referring to him as as “Temu Charlie Crist.”
For those of you living under a rock or not familiar with what Temu is, Temu is an online marketplace site that sells subpar, very cheap merchandise. Temu is also considered a cheaper version of Walmart.
“Probably Teemu Charlie Chris is probably a more apt description. I just don't get it man like you know you were a Republican member of Congress and all of a sudden you're an MSNBC or MSNOW contributor, and now you're a Democrat running for governor I mean, I don't understand it I don't get it I'm more,” said Rep. Donalds.
Donalds wasn’t finished with Jolly, questioning how Floridians could “trust that person to lead.”
“I'm more focused on the people of Florida. Florida, we've had consistent common sense conservative governance for 30 years it has served our state well and we need to continue that, and you know a guy who changes parties like someone would change their suits, I don't know how you can trust that person to lead,” he added.
A recent poll has Donalds leading Jolly by a few percentage points.
