Florida gubernatorial candidate and former Speaker Paul Renner (R) is pitching his resume in a new political advertisement released this week as he looks to build momentum for his 2026 Republican primary campaign.

The 30-second spot mentions Speaker Renner's time in the Florida Legislature and support of Gov. Ron DeSantis's agenda, whom he is seeking to succeed in Tallahassee in November. The ad implies Renner defeated the "woke agenda" and helped brand Florida as a "free state" during his time in the chamber.

Renner served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2015 to 2024, including two years as Speaker of the House from 2022 to 2024. He announced his run for Florida governor in September 2025.

"As governor, Paul Renner will never compromise our values," the video states, pointing to lowering property taxes, stopping Sharia Law, keeping Chinese Communist students out of Florida universities, and preventing left-wing radicals from teaching students.

Renner also leaned into his Conservative principles with a quick punch at one of Florida's political rivals, California. Gov. Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom have often gone back and forth during their terms on each state's standing, with Renner likely looking to continue DeSantis's trajectory if elected.

"And for liberals offended by this ad, you're always welcome to move to California," the ad states.

Renner is in a race with U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, and businessman James Fishback for the GOP nomination.

Florida's primary election is Aug. 18.
