During a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit, Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) excoriated Democrats for letting their hatred of President Donald Trump outweigh whatever good the ongoing Iran strikes are bringing about.

Sen. Moody expressed disbelief at the opposition, pointing out that "President Trump has gone over and beyond to try and negotiate to make sure he was eliminating that threat. And you heard Secretary Rubio earlier today say it just got to the point where they [Iran] were manufacturing so many ballistic missiles that had the capability of launching, so many that it would have hindered our ability to address that threat as it continued to evolve."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio did indeed tell the press that Iran had short-range ballistic missiles pointed at American assets in the region, and the United States would have been a target if Israel or another nation attacked Iran first.

After all, Sen. Moody noted that previous presidents seemed to act as though the threat posed by Iran did not exist, and thus President Trump's actions are a long-delayed response to that threat.

The Florida Senator further condemned the Democrats for allowing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to shut down, as concerns of Iranian sleeper agents activating are at an all-time high, yet "there are some Democrats that just utterly dislike this President so much, they cannot even come out and commend what he is trying to do to ensure peace and eliminate a threat."

"Look, right now, DHS needs to be funded at 100%," Moody concluded, "During the Biden Administration, people on the terrorist watch list were released into our country, almost 100 of them, by President Biden. There is no time for politics right now. We need to get it funded."

Last June, Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) similarly denounced Democrats as "They want President Trump to lose more than they might even want America to win on something."
