Gov. Ron DeSantis announced preliminary estimates from VISIT Florida indicating the state welcomed a record $143.3 million in visitors in 2025, topping its previous record of $142.9 million set in 2024.
“Florida continues to set the standard as the top travel destination in the nation, welcoming millions of visitors while delivering real economic benefits for our residents,” DeSantis said in a release. “Through strategic investments in infrastructure, public safety, and environmental stewardship, we are ensuring that Florida remains a place where families can vacation with confidence and where our tourism industry can continue to thrive.”
Below are specific figures for 2025:
- 91.5% domestic travelers (131.1 million).
- 9.3 million overseas visitation, including 2.9 million Canadians. (+6.5 overall increase)
Brazil is the second-most visited international country, according to the release. The country saw a 10.4% increase in 2024.
Argentina saw a 17.8% increase from last year.

Key numbers from the fourth quarter were included. Q4 is considered October through December.
- 33.5 million total visitors (+0.6% from Q4 2024)
- 30.31 million domestic visitation (90.5%)
- 3.2 million international (9.5%)
- 27.4 million total enplanements at 19 Florida airports (+2.8 from Q4 2024)
“As the #1 domestic travel destination, families and vacationers know that Florida has set the gold standard for the tourism industry,” Florida Department of Commerce Secretary J. Alex Kelly said. “This new milestone is the direct result of strategic investments in our communities that promote job growth, bolster small businesses and fortify infrastructure—cementing Florida’s place as a travel destination, both nationally and internationally. Governor DeSantis has made Florida the premier destination for travelers looking to experience all Florida has to offer.”
