Florida Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (R) applauded President Donald Trump after he released a statement in support of the Iranian people and their protests against the current government.

“President Trump is standing on the right side of history, firmly with the Iranian people. Every tyrant is the same: when their power is threatened, they choose bullets over humanity. They murder their own people to cling to control,” Rep. Salazar shared on X

“Looking the other way while a regime slaughters tens of thousands of protesters is immoral, cowardly, and unacceptable. There is no moral gray area. You either stand with freedom, or you side with killers,” she concluded.

Included in her post is a Truth Social post from President Trump where he urges the “Iranian Patriots” to “Take over your institutions” and that he has cancelled all future meetings with any Iranian officials.

“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING - TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a high price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote.

Upwards of 2,500 people have died nationwide since the onset of the protests roughly two weeks ago, to which Trump responded, hinting at a possible U.S. intervention against the government in Tehran.

When reporters later asked for clarification on what he meant when he said “HELP IS ON THE WAY”, Trump simply replied, “You're gonna have to figure that one out, I'm sorry."

Tehran has warned neighbors that host U.S. troops that it would hit American bases if Washington strikes, a senior Iranian official said in an article with Reuters, as Iran attempts to deter Donald Trump's threats to intervene on behalf of protesters.

Israeli intelligence confirms that Trump intends to take action against Iran in support of the protestors, but it is unclear as to what the scope and timing of his actions are, an Israeli official said.
