TALLAHASSEE— During his 8th and final State of the State address to the Republican-led Florida Legislature, Governor Ron DeSantis was jeered by Democratic lawmakers for referring to New York City Mayor Zohrani Mamdani as a “Marxist mayor.”
Gov. DeSantis remark was made as he dressed down the current Progressive Democratic “ideologies” across the country, and reference the recent arrest of Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro by President Donald Trump.
“In the past decade, we’ve seen cities like Chicago and San Francisco be destroyed by failed ideologies, we’ve witness once dominate states spark an exodus among its own citizens due to their own harmful policies, and even as we cheered the removal of a Marxist dictator in Venezuela, we saw the election of a Marxist mayor in our nation’s largest city,” stated Gov. DeSantis.
