President Donald Trump ripped into the effects of rampant immigration on the United States, saying he would "permanently pause migration" from third-world countries in a post on Truth Social this week. The fiery post came after two National Guard soldiers were shot in D.C., allegedly by an Afghan national just before Thanksgiving.
The president also called the move necessary to reverse the "social dysfunction" in America, which he alluded to as having a burden on the economy, education system, and public safety throughout the country.
"The official United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people (Census), most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels," Trump wrote. "They and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form."
Arguing the point, Trump claimed that migrants earning $30,000 with a green card will receive $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family in the lengthy post. He also indicated that the migrant population was much higher, opening the door to an even greater burden.
Trump also slammed the State of Minnesota for its heavy Somali population and its effect on public safety. Minnesota is home to the largest Somali population in the U.S., with approximately 80,000 living in the metro area.
"Hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota," Trump continued. "Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for “prey” as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone."
Trump also ripped into Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, calling him "seriously retarded" for being complicit in the problem.
"The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both," Trump wrote.
In addition, Trump attacked U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), calling her the worst "Congressman/woman” in our Country." The president also mocked Omar for long-running allegations that Omar married her brother to help him commit immigration fraud.
Moreover, Trump attacked the congresswoman, who is Somali-born, for being wrapped in a "swaddling hijab."
[She] does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime-ridden nation," Trump wrote.
Gov. Ron DeSantis also seemingly agreed with Trump's call to fix mass migration in a recent X post.
"The USA should never import anyone who hates our country or who is not culturally/politically compatible with America, much less import such people on a mass scale," DeSantis wrote. The mass migration championed in Europe by elites (who, it just so happens, are insulated from its effects) has been a major own goal."
