Republican candidate Ralph Massullo breezed past Anthony Brice to win the Senate District 11 primary with nearly 80% of the vote on Tuesday night. Brice received roughly 20% of the 28,322 votes cast.

"Congratulations @RalphMassullo on securing the Republican nomination for State Senate District 11," the Florida GOP shared on social media. "Well deserved and look forward to delivering a major victory this December!"

Massullo moves on to face Democratic candidate Ash Marwah in the SD 11 Special General Election on Dec. 9. The winner will succeed Blaise Ingolia, who is now Florida's chief financial officer.

SD 11 covers Citrus, Hernando, and Sumter counties, as well as parts of Pasco County. The district is heavily Republican, with Ingoglia winning his general election race with over 69% of the vote in 2024.

Given those facts, Massullo should have a huge advantage heading into the general in a few months. On top of that, Massullo secured a big endorsement from Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier this year.

Moreover, the 68-year-old is no stranger to politics, having previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2022.

Massullo also received a sizeable endorsement from the Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) back in July. The AIF is known as "The Voice of Florida Business” in the Sunshine State.

Outside of politics, Massullo has been a physician and business owner for three decades.

"As a physician, a business owner, and a former state representative, Ralph has been a leader in his community for more than two decades and has served his neighbors admirably,” AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis said. “During his time in the legislature, he proved he will fight for the best interests of not only his fellow Floridians, but the business community as well. Ralph understands the importance of ensuring Florida’s economy continues to thrive, so its residents can prosper, and that’s why AIF is proud to extend our support to his Senate campaign.”
