U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL) is endorsing fellow state congressman and Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds in his bid to become governor in next November's election.
"Byron Donalds will be an outstanding America First Governor for all Floridians. I have seen first-hand Byron's commitment to commonsense conservative leadership and his ability to get things done," Dunn wrote.
"Byron will stand up for our veterans, support law enforcement, and ensure that every Floridian feels safe and has the opportunity to live the American Dream," Dunn added. "I’m proud to support my friend Byron Donalds for Governor, a tireless ally of President Trump’s MAGA agenda."
Rep. Donalds, who announced his candidacy back in February, thanked Congressman Dunn for his support on social media.
"Thank you @DunnCampaign for your support! As Governor, I will stand up for our veterans, support law enforcement, and ensure every Floridian feels safe and has the chance to live the American Dream," Donalds wrote.
Dunn's endorsement is the latest in a long line of Florida congressional support for Donalds, which includes Republican Reps. Kat Cammack, Randy Fine, Brian Mast, Laurel Lee, Mario Díaz-Balart, and María Elvira Salazar.
Donalds has also received endorsements from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), as well as other members of congressional leadership.
If that wasn't enough, Donalds earned the support of Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) a few months ago. Moreover, he received the biggest endorsement of them all for a Republican from President Donald Trump back in February.
It makes you wonder who's left?
Gov. Ron DeSantis has not endorsed Donalds to succeed him, at least not yet. The gubernatorial hopeful called his relationship with Gov. DeSantis a "work in progress" back in July, so it might be a while before the two work things out.
DeSantis also might be waiting for his lieutenant governor, Jay Collins, to decide if he's jumping into the race. Gov. DeSantis and Collins are close friends, and Collins was appointed lieutenant governor in August.
The Florida gubernatorial general election is set for Nov. 3, 2026.
