Since taking over as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF), Chairman Evan Power, who is currently on diaper duty, has transformed the once-boring and uncreated state party into what nothing less than an aggressive and funny Democratic Party-beatdown of an organization.
The RPOF's latest venture into political comedy is their The Home Depot-inspired "The Deport Depot" fundraising initiative. The RPOF is selling "The Deport Depot" merchandise to raise money for the group after Governor Ron DeSantis's recent announcement of "Deportation Depot" to compliment the existing "Alligator Alcatraz" detention center.
The governor announced the new facility will be located at the Baker Correctional Institute in Sanderson at a news conference on Thursday. The center near Lake City Airport is expected to hold more than 1,300 illegal aliens.
"We want a process, stage and return illegal aliens to their home country. That is the name of the game," DeSantis said. And that's what we do in Florida. We know that this is an important national priority. Not only of President Trump, but the American people."
The Floridian cannot confirm that the construction that will take place at "Deportation Depot" is going to use materials bought from The Home Depot.
Word on the street is the Executive Director Bill Helmich and Power regularly shop for daisies, fertilizer, chlorine pool tablets, and WD-40, at their local Home Depot.
Some Home Depot stores, in particularly in South Florida, allow for vendors to sell the best arepas in the Western Hemisphere. Colombian cheese arepas. Venezuelan arepas taste like cardboard.
