Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) expressed opposition to a proposed carveout for illegal alien farm workers in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Varney & Co., saying, "We cannot allow to have this situation continue to metastasize with these carveouts."

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump reconsidered the possibility of granting amnesty to illegal alien farm workers to retain agricultural output, prompting host Stuart Varney to ask Rep. Donalds if he would also support carveouts for construction workers.

"No, no carveouts," Rep. Donalds replied, adding, "Look at where we are in immigration. We have really been overrun as a country. It has happened over the last administration in the last four years. It has really overwhelmed every city, not just in Florida, but across the country. And we cannot allow to have this situation continue to metastasize with these carveouts."

Additionally, the Florida Congressman reiterated the need to be "very firm when it comes to immigration policy," and then once the border is fully secured, "like President Trump has already done... then you can start to talk about visa reforms. And trust me, our visa system is a mess."

Varney then asked how agriculture would remain active if every illegal alien working the fields were deported.

"Well, let me put it to you this way," Donalds answered. "If you have plumbing in your house that does not work, what do you do? You just tape it up throughout the house? You know that it is not going to work. You have to actually redo all of your plumbing."

"You have got too many presidents who have abused or ignored federal immigration law and border security procedures, and now the problem is sitting in the lap of the American people," the Florida Congressman concluded, adding, "I know that this is a very hardline stance, but it is the only stance that we can take as a nation. We have to work through this problem constructively and then provide stability, which starts with border security first and foremost. And that is not just my stance, that is the stance of a significant majority of the American people."
