Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) demanded an investigation into the Obama Administration's role in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax in a recent appearance on Fox News, similarly scorching attempts by Democrats and the media to downplay the scandal.
"We know the history, and if it is Barack Obama's administration that ordered a new intelligence briefing, not based on any facts or merits, but based upon the Steele dossier," Rep. Donalds began, "that demonstrates why the former presidential administration under Joe Biden did not look into any of this, because they were covering up for the previous Democrat administration."
Additionally, Rep. Donalds further noted that "we all know that the Steele dossier was fake, and then when they ordered a new intelligence briefing, it was then Mr. [John] Brennan, who was overriding senior intelligence officials in the intelligence community, who did not want to even go down the road of substantiating claims that the Russians were putting up Donald Trump as a stalking horse."
Thus, the Florida Congressman said that Gabbard bore sole responsibility for sharing more documents and then recommending referrals to the Department of Justice for possible prosecution.
The host played a brief clip of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who urged the formation of a special counsel to investigate the scandal, to which Donalds agreed that an investigation was needed regardless of whether a special counsel was formed or not.
"One thing is crystal clear," Donalds continued, "what the Democrats are trying to do with the media is trying to sweep this under the rug, hiding behind the Senate intelligence report from 2020, saying, 'Oh, we already uncovered that, nothing to see here.' We know that senior intelligence officials in the Obama Administration engaged in an intelligence scheme and intelligence fraud to undermine the incoming President of the United States at the time, which was Donald Trump."
The Florida Congressman concluded by asking, "How many Americans still to this day believe that the Russians put up Donald Trump to be a stalking horse? Unfortunately, there are too many Americans who still believe that."
