Florida lawmakers have expressed support for Israel as it continues its efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Iran has indiscriminately fired sundry inter-ballistic missiles against Israel, killing and injuring civilians.
Iran’s attacks are a retaliation against Israel’s ongoing attacks targeting the former’s nuclear development programs.
While Iran has claimed its attacks against Israel are legitimate self-defense, Florida’s lawmakers have belittled Iran’s narrative and sided with Israel.
“Israel did NOT start this war—Iran did,” said Representative Maria-Elvira Salazar (R-FL). “Israel is simply doing what any other nation threatened by an oppressive regime that openly calls for its eradication would do: protect its citizens and ensure its survival.”
Iranian leaders have previously shamelessly voiced their intentions of “destroying” and bringing “death” to Israel, the US, and their allies.
Iran Watch, an organization devoted to exposing Iran’s weapons development programs, recently reported Iran is dangerously close to obtaining nuclear weapons.
Iran Watch claimed Iran has “accomplished over 90% of the work needed to bring natural uranium to weapon-grade.”
Similarly, Israel claims Iran “is nearing a point of no return” in its quest to obtain nuclear weapons.
“A regime that promises death to America and Israel can never be allowed to achieve nuclear capabilities,” said Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL). ”I support Israel’s right to defend itself from a nuclear Iran—an unacceptable end that would put Israel and our other allies in constant danger and undermine world stability.”
It remains unclear for how long Israel and Iran will continue tit-for-tat military strikes, but messaging from both Iranian and Israeli leadership suggests the conflict could escalate and perdure.
“Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon,” said Senator Rick Scott (R-FL). “The world will be a safer place once Iran’s nuclear facilities and capabilities are destroyed.”
