Representative Randy Fine (R-FL) did not mince words about illegal aliens in a recent interview with The Floridian, saying, "I want every illegal to be deported."
"Everything they have done since they have come here is fruit of the poisonous tree," Rep. Fine added. "They should not have come here in the first place. They broke our laws to do so, and so I think they all need to go home."
Additionally, he agreed with President Donald Trump's policy of prioritizing illegal aliens with criminal records or affiliations first, but reiterated that "they all need to go home."
"Look at the costs in Florida," Rep. Fine continued, "Every illegal immigrant's kid costs +$10,000 a year to educate. They raise our insurance rates. They raise our housing prices. There is a massive drain on this country to the point where Democrats are angry that 1.4 million of them might lose free healthcare through Medicaid."
The Floridian asked the Florida Congressman how he viewed the so-called "Alligator Alcatraz" that has been dominating Sunshine State political discourse.
Opening a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in Ochopee was first proposed by Attorney General James Uthmeier last week and has recently been approved by Federal authorities.
This proposal has already drawn criticism from Florida Democrats, with Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried saying, "This facility would desecrate ecologically critical wetlands, trample on Tribal sovereignty, and transform one of the world's most cherished ecosystems into a prison camp for political gain."
Fine, however, told The Floridian, "If they do not like it, they [illegal aliens] can go home."
"I want people to self-deport," he concluded. "But whatever we have to do to round them up and get them out of here, I am all in. So, I do not feel bad for people who came into this country illegally. They should go."
