MIAMI, FL — The Republican Party of Miami-Dade County hosted a packed house this past weekend for its First Annual Women’s History Month Liberty Breakfast, headlined by former Alaska Governor and vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin.
Held at the Renaissance Ballrooms in Miami, the sold-out event brought together over 400 grassroots supporters, elected officials, and community leaders in a vibrant celebration of Republican women’s leadership.
Newly elected Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, Doral Mayor Christi Fraga, and Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Larisa Svechin discussed the unique role women play in politics, as well as the Republican Party.
The event featured video greetings from President Trump, Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar and Senator Ashley Moody.
Palin, who received a standing ovation as she took the stage, was interviewed live by State Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez (R-Doral) in an engaging fireside chat-style discussion that ranged from national politics and energy independence to motherhood and the future of the Republican Party.
The former governor praised Miami-Dade’s momentum, calling it “a shining example of how conservative leadership can thrive in diverse communities.” She also noted how inspired she was to see so many women holding elected office in the county.
“It’s incredible to see this level of female leadership within a local party!” Palin said. “It shows that our movement is growing stronger, smarter, and more prepared than ever to lead.”
Party Chairman Kevin J. Cooper, the youngest chair in Miami-Dade GOP history, opened the event with a fiery message about unity, growth, and preparing for the 2026 midterms. He emphasized the importance of the moment for the party and the broader movement in Florida.
“Governor Palin’s presence wasn’t just inspiring — it was energizing,” Cooper said. “We’re building something special here in Miami-Dade, and today was a powerful reminder that the future of the Republican Party is strong, unified, and unapologetically conservative.”
Palin’s visit is expected to bolster enthusiasm as the Miami-Dade GOP gears up for a critical 2026 election cycle, aiming to expand its gains from the 2024 wave that saw Republicans sweep all five countywide offices and flip Miami-Dade red for the first time in decades.
Chairman Cooper promised to continue the successful Liberty Breakfast Series in the coming months, noting that several very exciting speakers have expressed interest. For more information about upcoming events, visit MIAGOP.com.
