Moody Praises Trump's Border Crackdown

Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) praised President Donald Trump's border security initiatives during his first 100 days in office in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Bottom Line, saying, "he is willing to make the tough decisions and get it done, and our country is benefiting from that."

Additionally, Sen. Moody acknowledged Border Czar Tom Homan's comments on why he is "emotional" when discussing the border crisis, which he said was because he personally heard horror stories of rape and murder victims concerning illegal immigration.

"And I will tell you, as [Florida] Attorney General," Sen. Moody added, "One of the first things Biden did is he started taking criminals that the states and locals had arrested and no longer deporting those committing felony crimes. And as AG, I said, 'Absolutely not, you cannot do that. It is incredibly dangerous; people will be committing crimes that should not even be in this country."

As a result, the Florida Senator continued, "To see President Trump step in and take care of business in the first 100 days, I mean, we have almost shut down the borders 100%."

"And if you remember, the Democrats were saying, 'Well, I wish we could do something. We just need more laws.' No, we did not need more laws," Moody said. "We needed a President that took the job seriously, and President Trump has demonstrated that he is willing to do it. He is willing to make the tough decisions and get it done, and our country is benefiting from that."

Hosts Dagen McDowell and David Asman shifted the discussion to Judge Hannah Dugan, a Wisconsin judge arrested for preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from apprehending an illegal alien in her courtroom, asking the Florida Senator if she believed the arrest was justified.

"Listen, I served as a judge for over a decade," Moody answered, "if a colleague of mine had helped a criminal evade law enforcement, if a colleague of mine had harbored someone that law enforcement was looking for, or even, I believe, one of these judges, went so far as to destroy potential evidence, that is a crime. It does not matter what your job is, whether you are a judge or any other profession. So do not listen to Democrats when they start talking about, 'Oh, we have a constitutional crisis because we are arresting judges.' We are arresting people that are committing crimes. It does not matter your position."
