Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) held nothing back in fierce criticism of Democrats for their opposition to President Donald Trump's deportations in a recent appearance on Fox News's Faulkner Focus, calling it "infuriating."
Host Harris Faulkner began the discussion by highlighting California's planned early release of Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano, a twice-deported illegal alien who killed two teenagers while driving under the influence in November 2021.
"It is hard to watch that report," said Rep. Cammack, adding, "My heart just breaks for those parents." Additionally, she said, "We just cannot get the interior enforcement done fast enough. These people should never have been in our country in the first place, and we are seeing so many situations where these are twice or three times deported individuals who, again, are criminals. They are repeat career criminals. They have no place in our country."
Rep. Cammack further expressed disgust at Democrats "that are basically creating the MS-13 Caucus, going to bat for illegals over the people who pay their salaries," referencing the recent visits to El Salvador by Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and several Representatives, including Maxwell Frost (D-FL), which she called "infuriating."
"I think this is a wake-up call: Every single time we deal with these situations, we, as everyday Americans, we have to continue to keep the pressure up, we have to demand that our leaders are pushing for the interior enforcement and removal of people who should never be in this country in the first place," the Florida Congresswoman continued, "we have seen a bit of a trickle down, and we need to up that enforcement, because every day, we are seeing crimes committed and lives lost as a result of inaction."
Faulkner agreed, calling Democratic opposition "baffling" by highlighting a recent Colorado bill that, if passed, would prohibit public schools, universities, child care centers, health care facilities, and local governments from sharing personally identifying information with federal immigration agents. It would also block those agencies from allowing federal agents access to non-public areas without a warrant, as CBS described.
Cammack said that as a Colorado native, the bill exemplifies how "common sense is not common" and expressed gratitude for representing Florida instead, but nevertheless reiterated that "When will these Democrats stand up for Americans?"
"It is insane, and we, again, as constituents, as Americans, as just good people, should be standing up and screaming to the top of heaven that this is unacceptable," the Florida Congresswoman added. "We need to demand accountability. President Trump is doing everything he can. We in the House [of Representatives] need to pass more legislation, and the Senate needs to actually codify efforts to get these folks out of our country and tighten up the laws. This cannot stand."
