Mast Describes Trump's 'No Holds Barred' Immigration Plans

President-elect Donald Trump's plans to curb the border crisis will involve "no holds barred" methods, as Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) described in a recent appearance on Fox News's Faulkner Focus, which would include the possibility of cutting funding to sanctuary cities and imposition of tariffs or even sanctions on Mexico and Canada for enabling the crisis into compliance.

The conversation began with Democratic officials opposing Trump's mass deportation plans, for which Rep. Mast warned, "It is no holds barred for all resources, all dollars that go into your city, because the fact of the matter is, you are taking tax dollars from all Americans, but endangering all Americans, whether somebody came in in Arizona and burned someone alive in New York, you are endangering everybody," referencing the recent murder of a woman on a New York City subway by an illegal alien.

As a result, Rep. Mast added, "So whether it is dollars that come through the Highway Trust Fund or through the [Army] Corps of Engineers to support your ports or you name it, those dollars should be cut off. We are not going to subsidize what you do with illegal immigrants."

Regarding the imposition of tariffs and possibly sanctions on Mexico and Canada, the Florida Congressman said they were "two of my favorite words in the vocabulary of the Trump Administration because we have to look at what these countries are doing to us and say we are not going to sit back and be played for fools, be played for suckers, and be taken advantage of."

After all, Mast continued, "It is not written on our forehead, and we are no longer going to be that way for the United States of America. There is a new sheriff in town, and it is going to change. And if you are going to hurt Americans, it is going to be painful for you, and it is going to be even more painful the next week, the next month, and the next year if you do not acquiesce."
